BelizeFrom exploring the birthplace of Mayan culture, to kayaking alongside sea turtles, Belize has something for the whole family.
As the only country in Central America that claims English as its official language, communication is easy in Belize – as is the pace of life. Highly regarded for its biodiversity and distinctive ecosystems, visitors are encouraged to explore the interior of this Commonwealth realm and can do so via a number of short-hop local airlines. Once ensconced in the rainforest, one can expect to spot black orchids, towering mahogany trees, toucans and tapirs, in addition to stumbling across ancient Mayan ruins. However, if relaxing on a palm-backed Caribbean beach is more your idea of fun, then Belize offers up over 240 miles of coastline and 200 offshore islands to explore or simply admire from the beach.

FloridaIn addition to hosting some of the world’s finest theme parks, the Sunshine State offers some fairly quirky family activities involving cowboys, alligators and surf machines…
Explore your inner John Wayne at Creek Ranch – a 1,400 acre working cattle spread that welcomes guests to partake in lasso lessons, archery and trap-shooting, as well as driving a 400-strong herd for those with experience in the saddle. Further south is the Everglades National Park, the largest subtropical wilderness in the US. National Geographic magazine recommends that you rent bikes and take the Shark Valley Loop trail, but advises you to watch out for errant alligators. Finally if the lure of the beach is too much, consider the luxury Andalucian style surroundings of the Boca Raton Resort, which offers all-day kids’ activities including a ‘FlowRider’ wave simulator for surf practice and a nightclub for the over-10s, complete with pro DJs and a velvet rope.
