Victor’s new one-of-a-kind golf experience, scheduled to take off from Frankfurt in November 2020, is set to transform the idea of what a luxury sporting trip can be.
For golfers, there used to be nothing better than spending a weekend on their favourite course with a bag of clubs to hand. Now, thanks to an innovative collaboration between Victor and an enterprising German company called Golf.extra (which specialises in extraordinary travel experiences), you can combine all the best golfing weekends you’ve ever had into one epic trip.
As of 2020, true fans can spend an entire month playing on some of the best courses around the world, and flying from course to course by private jet.
The specially configured A340-VIP will take off in Frankfurt and head east, making seven touchdowns as it navigates the globe and the most exclusive fairways, links and (of course) club houses the planet has to offer. The first stop is Muscat in Oman, before continuing the journey south to Singapore and then Sydney, Australia, followed by Queenstown in New Zealand. From there it’s back up across the Pacific to Maui, the main island on the Hawaiian archipelago, and on to the US West Coast for San Francisco. If that all sounds like too much work, there’s a final stop in Cancún to experience some R&R on the Caribbean Sea, before heading home to where it all began 26 days ago in Frankfurt.
Luxury in the air
Thanks to the jet’s luxury configuration, the trip is restricted to just 60 passengers. And since the A340VIP traditionally has room for 100 seats in a business-class configuration, this makes for a very spacious arrangement indeed. There’s room to socialise with fellow travellers – including a lounge area towards the rear of the cabin – and food and wine is, as to be expected, of the first-class and highly personalised variety. Rows are never more than two at a time, so aisle access and privacy are guaranteed, and when the time comes to get a little rest in between swings, lie-flat leather seats do the job in style.
Something for everyone
Of course, when travelling to some of the most beautiful destinations on earth, it makes sense to investigate the world beyond your window. It’s for this reason that each stop is for a couple of days and also includes a full cultural programme, so that anyone who wants to take a break from the fairways – or non-sporting partners – can enjoy a specially curated snapshot of their current berth. This is a world tour from a unique perspective – and one that’s sure to be remembered for years to come.
