Four years on from London and, incredibly, the Rio 2016 Olympics are here. This Friday, host city Rio de Janeiro channels an energetic snapshot of Brazilian life into the Maracana stadium for its official opening ceremony. Two weeks of sporting cut, thrust and committed contest between countries all over the world will follow, and another uniquely international spectacle.
There is still time, of course, to travel to the heart of the action. Victor continues to take last minute requests for long-range bookings to Brazil – its seamless, utterly comfortable and convenient method of private jet charter the perfect way for discerning UHNWI travellers to fly in, on demand.
Chartering an Airbus A319 from London to Rio could be the ideal solution. The £656,000 price tag gives you space for 17 or 18 passengers and 35 pieces of luggage, not to mention bedroom, shower and Wi-Fi facilities. Upon arriving, fully relaxed, you’ll have ample time to soak up the carnival atmosphere for a few days before heading home.
Flying from America? A typical return flight from New York to Sao Paulo (where several Olympic events will also be taking place) will cost around $156,500 – taking a Gulfstream GIV-SP for 16 passengers. But, then, Victor can provide advice on departures everywhere from Miami to Van Nuys, LA. You choose….
Once you’re on Olympic ground? Staying in luxury accommodation provided by Oasis Collections is a must. Oasis, another high quality ‘on demand’ marketplace like Victor, offers homes to stay in in the very best neighbourhoods – as well as unique amenities such as gym memberships and access to a network of exclusive private members’ clubs.
In time for the Olympics, Oasis is actually opening Clubhouse Rio – the city’s first urban members’ club for internationally-minded individuals in the arts, media and design industries. Situated between Ipanema and Cantagalo in a 1940s Tudor-style residence on historic Rua Saint Roman, the club boasts a 3-tiered front deck, indoor lounge, bar and library, outdoor bar (with stunning views!), back garden with pool, and a selection of guest rooms.
It is also curating a special calendar of events including private dinners with international chefs, film screenings, art previews and pool parties.
Let the games begin!
