COVID-19 restrictions

From June 8th all inbound travellers will be required to enter a two week quarantine period. Arriving passengers will have to provide an address where they will remain for 14 days.

Those arriving from Ireland, the channel Islands and the Isle of Man will NOT have to enter the 14 day quarantine period.

Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are exempt as they are part of the common travel area.

The 14 British Overseas Territories are also exempt.

At present, passengers of all nationalities will be allowed to enter the UK, subject to ‘appropriate screening’.

The airport was built in 1940 as an RAF base to be used during the Second World War, and eventually opened for civil operations in 1947. Several domestic flights ensued within the UK over the following years. The airport also serves as a hub for many of the highlands and islands of Scotland and is used by low-cost carriers for some European flights. The terminal is undergoing expansion to coincide with increased passenger numbers and the reinstatement of a regular flight to Heathrow.
