- immediate family members of a national of an EU Member State traveling together or traveling to join the national of an EU Member State;

- immediate family members of a British national traveling together or traveling to join the British national

 A completed 'Health Control Form' must be presented upon arrival.

 Residency permits and 'D' visas that expired after 14 December 2019 are accepted for entry. These documents are valid 6 months after the state of alarm has ended.

History

Barcelona International Airport was opened at its current location in 1918, originally called El Prat. The airport was originally used as a base for the Spanish Navy's Zeppelin fleet, with the first commercial flights commencing in 1927. Various terminals were built between 1948 and in 1992 for the Summer Olympic Games, a major expansion project was undertaken to accommodate the additional passengers. The existing terminal was modernised and 2 new terminals were added. A new Terminal 1 was built in 2009.
