- passengers with evidence that their travel is to perform a professional activity, e.g., commuters, diplomats, nursing staff, food industry personnel, specialists;

- passengers in transit to their home country, if there is no other travel option. The purpose of travel and the entry requirements for the destination and transit countries must be proved;

- US military personnel stationed in Germany and their family members;

- merchant seamen who are going to sign up on board or leave Germany for the purpose of repatriation.

History

Paderborn Lippstadt Airport opened in 1971, however it was not until 1984 that the airport became established with the permission to operate as a commercial airport.This required an extended runway and terminal building, which in turn allowed larger jets and increased air traffic to come to and from the airport. In 1986, further developments took place to enable larger commercial aircraft to operate at the airport. In 2006 a conference centre opened at the airport and today the airport hosts a number of seasonal flights.
